Software Engineering Intern

We are looking for a hands-on software engineering intern to turn our clean sales warehouse into an interactive dashboard the team actually uses. You will write the Python that moves data from warehouse to dashboard, keep it fresh on a schedule, and document what you built so the team can maintain it after you graduate the internship.

Why this role exists

Our sales team currently burns hours every week hand-assembling reports from a warehouse that is already clean and query-ready — the data is fine, the last mile is missing. We need someone to build the prototype dashboard that replaces those manual reports and gives the team instant KPI visibility, in a supportive environment where you get real ownership without being thrown in alone.

What you'll do

Data extraction and transformation. Write Python scripts using pandas and numpy to pull sales data from the warehouse and shape it into dashboard-ready datasets. The warehouse is clean, so you can spend your time on modeling the right views rather than fighting the data.

Dashboard prototyping. Build the first version of the internal sales dashboard in Streamlit or Plotly Dash. Wire up the KPIs the team currently produces by hand, and iterate with them on what actually helps day-to-day.

Refresh automation and documentation. Set up a refresh schedule so the dashboard stays current without anyone poking it, and document every transformation clearly enough that the engineer who inherits this from you can modify it confidently.

What we're looking for

Solid Python fundamentals — you can write a script that reads data, transforms it, and produces a result without hand-holding.

Working knowledge of pandas and numpy from coursework or personal projects.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Curiosity about how data becomes a decision — you enjoy asking the stakeholder what they actually need before writing code.

Willingness to write things down so the next person can pick up where you left off.

Nice to have

SQL basics — enough to read and write straightforward warehouse queries.

Comfort with git for day-to-day version control.

Any exposure to REST APIs or HTTP basics.

Prior tinkering with Streamlit, Plotly Dash, or a similar dashboarding tool.

What success looks like

By day 90 there is a working Streamlit or Plotly Dash prototype in the team's hands, displaying the key sales KPIs, refreshing on a schedule, and matching the existing manual reports within 1% on every KPI. The sales team has retired at least two weekly manual reports and rates the dashboard 4 or higher on usefulness.
